A HUGE THANK YOU: to all who helped at the working bee in the St Clair Church gardens last Monday – we had a great team and achieved a lot! Thank you too to Ken for offering to take the rubbish in a trailer to the landfill.

Caversham Women’s Fellowship meets tomorrow evening, 21st May, at 7.30pm in the St. Andrew’s Lounge.
ROCK SOLID runs an intermediate aged club for youth in South Dunedin on a Wednesday night (school term). Our volunteer leaders often don’t get a chance to eat between work/study and coming to run the club night; having a bite available for them to eat before club starts makes a big difference to their energy and enthusiasm levels. Would you be interested in supplying a finger food light meal for these volunteers on a roster system? Examples of food would be pizza, pies, quiches, sandwiches, soup, fruit, biscuits/baking, muesli bars etc. If interested please contact Bruce Hamill – we are hoping to involve a group from Coastal Unity in this outreach.

The Jesus Driven Life: Michael Hardin’s book The Jesus Driven Life has been made into a DVD companion series of half-hour sessions. They are all jam-packed with creative insights and communicated clearly in a way that is accessible to a non-academic audience. In the series Michael addresses questions like: Why has Jesus of Nazareth been largely displaced from the centre of most dominant forms of Christianity today? How can we understand the relation between the non-violent Jesus of the gospels and the ‘violent God’ of most Christian traditions? Did God really punish Jesus on the cross for our sin? How did Jesus read his bible (our OT)? How should we read it? What would Christianity look like if we really followed Jesus?
