Fundraising Quiz & Dessert Night – Thursday 10th May, 7pm in Sidey Hall, Caversham. This is only 2 weeks away, so we would appreciate donations of raffle prizes this week if possible (new items only please).

Get your teams together – registration of your team at the office (487 6367) would be appreciated but not essential.  $20 a team (up to 6 people), $1 desserts & raffles.

Please use the enclosed green flier to invite a friend or neighbour to come along to our Quiz Night – it’s always a night of good fellowship and fun.

Thursday Home Group will meet at 7.30pm this Thursday, 3rd May, at 62B David St, Caversham. The group will be viewing a DVD series by James Alison on “Pursuing Peace.”

The Jesus Driven Life: Michael Hardin’s book The Jesus Driven Life has been made into a DVD companion series of half-hour sessions. They are all jam-packed with creative insights and communicated clearly in a way that is accessible to a non-academic audience. In the series Michael addresses questions like: Why has Jesus of Nazareth been largely displaced from the centre of most dominant forms of Christianity today? How can we understand the relation between the non-violent Jesus of the gospels and the ‘violent God’ of most Christian traditions? Did God really punish Jesus on the cross for our sin? How did Jesus read his bible (our OT)? How should we read it? What would Christianity look like if we really followed Jesus?

There has been some interest in watching this DVD series together so anyone who is interested is most welcome to come along on Sunday nights at 7pm at 16 St Clair Close starting from NEXT SUNDAY MAY 6th.

ALL Parish Elders – your next meeting will be on Wednesday 23rd May, 7.30pm at St Clair. Please note this date on your calendars.
